Whoa. I thought Fred Phelps was bad. Do we really need a newer, younger version?

I do not know the man, but from those statements you might be seeing someone that ignores the biblical teaching about:

"seeing the sliver in another's eye while ignoring the large plank sticking out of your own "

Lee, I have to ask… how does the US breed so many of these weirdos?

Not a week goes by without another one creeping out of some woodwork.

    Disturbing…

No comment from me, Godwin's law and its equivalents have been invoked too often in PRSI by me for my liking.

The US is a truly disturbing place at times. Other times it's great. This guy is the craziest I've seen in a while though. He should quickly overtake Fred Phelps in the wacko department.

The US culture--such as it is--supports any and all views, no matter how far out in left field they may be. There is no societal pressure to remain quiet, and that pesky First Amendment protects the idiots as well as the rational. In general, I think it's fair to say that other countries have their own share of fools like this creature, Anderson, but there are both written and unwritten laws/rules constraining them.

And never forget that our media caters to these sorts. The weirder, the better, it looks like. Anything to create excitement and sell advertising.

What a horrible and disgusting twisting of the Bible to fit his own bigotry and hatred. :(

I don't know why but I kept thinking of the movie predator when reading:

Between the "death panel" crapola, the number of minds brainwashed by Fox "News", and this guy, I'm seriously beginning to question why this country chooses to defend virtually all speech, no matter how bizarre.

This guy belongs in a mental institution, for Christ's sake. Not on TV and preaching to the weak-minded (...speaking of predators, heh heh).

I really, really, really want to believe it's worth defending even the most obnoxious hate speech...but at what point do we come to the conclusion that all we are doing is empowering the inmates who want to take over the asylum?

I'm beginning to agree with you. At what point do we stop this crap? I mean, praying for the death of the president? Come on- that's just nuts.

    S. Anderson's rhetoric on the subject is no different that that of a devout Muslim's.

So what's you point? Most people aren't fans of religious fanatics no matter what religion they follow.

It's not a matter of being devout. It's about fundamentalism. Fundamentalist Christians are similar to Fundamentalist Muslims.
