WTF? "software on ipad has expired and must be updated to a newer version"

    No, and I was using mental case to study for surgical boards. Memory was less than 2% used

    This usually happens when you have iOS betas installed as they're time sensitive.

    What happens when you do a Restore?

    Sounds a lot like you have a 4.3 beta installed that's expired.
