I have an iPhone XS Max and use it primarily along with my iMac / MBP. I have an iPad Air that is on its last legs and have thought about upgrading for some time; however, I don't know if I'll really put it to good use for the money as I do everything (including watching videos) on my XS Max. Maybe it's because my Air is slow, but IDK if I should trade it in while I can or wait for a REALLY great deal on the Pros.

Personally I have an iPad Pro 10.5 and an iPad mini 5 along with my Xs max. I use my max the most because it’s smaller and more compact however I still use my iPads for watching movies and tv shows and drawing with my Apple pencils and web browsing and photo editing.

I’ve had all the plus sized iPhones and before that several galaxy note phones but I’ve always had a tablet.

It’s difficult to say if you’d get any use out of another iPad as you don’t use it much. Back in the day when I had a Samsung Tab 2 10.1. It was as slow as molasses, buggy and not enjoyable to use. I did still use it for watching videos. However I do think it being slow can effect usage. Before I had my iPad mini 5 I had the 4 and I didn’t use it much except for watching videos on my commute. Now that I’ve upgraded to the 5 I find that I use it all the time, especially at home.

I have an iPhone X and a Note 8. I’ve had flagship Tablets in the past but found myself using them less and less. I just purchased an Amazon Fire HD 10 to watch movies/videos, surf the web, view my social media, check email and read books when at home. It’s fast, battery is great, full HD display and I purchased under $120 refurbished with ads on the lock screen that doesn’t bother me. I couldn’t be happier with it for the money. I don’t think I will be spending the money I used to for tablets any longer.

I have the 2018 iPad Pro 12.9. I don’t use it less, as my iPad is primarily for media consumption. I travel a lot for work, so when traveling and at hotels it gets used a lot.

Depends on what you do with them and the size of the iPad.
If you’re painting, drawing, illustrating, or photo manipulation, the better apps are either only available for iPads or apps available for both will give you a better experience on an iPad.

I have an Xs MAX. Initially sold my iPad when I got my 8+ but missed it so much for reading. Nothing compares to the extra information you can get on an iPad screen. I got a 10.5 and haven't looked back. The amount of text you can get on a 10.5 vs the Xs MAX is night and day - that and viewing youtube videos is a lot nicer - Apple News is a lot easier to read too.

I waited for a great deal on the 10.5 Pro at BestBuy. Apple Pencil with 10.5 for class notes and free-thinking is no contest too. :)

Having XS Max and Note 9 caused me to give my iPad to my girlfriend as I found I almost completely stopped using it.

For serious content consumption I have TV and computer monitor. For quickly looking things up the Max more than suffices

I don't have an XS Max but I do have a similar sized phone (Note 9). I also have an iPad Mini 5 and a laptop. I use all of them. The Note is great for on the go sketches, the iPad Mini is good for mobile Affinity Designer and sketching and of course the laptop for doing the detailed illustration and dev work.

I do have an iPad Pro but its gathering dust in a drawer, anything it does can be done more easily on the laptop and iPad mini. I carry my iPad mini around with the laptop so the Pro was just adding unnecessary extra weight for no gain.

I have an XS Max and first gen 12.9” iPad Pro and I use it for everything when I’m home. Never am on my iPhone at home.

13" MBP, 12.9" iPP, Mini 5 and Xs Max. The only two that overlap for me at all, and it's only partial, are the two iPads. The iPhone doesn't overlap either of the iPads for me. If you took the Mini out of the mix, there's be essentially no overlap other than checking messages and emails while I'm using one of them. But this will depend on your uses, so YMMV.

I think it depends on if you're able/willing to spend the money. Personally I don't use my phone at home unless it’s to send a quick text. The rest of the time I'm on my iPad, probably even more so if it’s new.

I have an XS Max, it's the best phone I've ever used. It does not replace my iPad which I use mostly for watch TV and Movies. The Max has a beautiful, large screen, but for viewing video, the iPad is much better.

i have an macbook pro i dont use anymore since graduating pretty much because i am sick of being on a laptop (DELL) after work and yes, to be honest i am mostly on my Max now. my iPad Pro is mostly used when i am going somewhere to watch some movies. even on my daily commute i use the iPhone to watch tv shows.

one major drawback of the iPad is no WhatsApp so i need to keep my iPhone close anyway. its just more convenient to hold chilling on the couch.

i can tell by looking on the available space on the devices too haha on my iPad Pro i am only using 14 GB while on my iPhone i am using 30+ GB

My iPad Pro is my preferred device. My iPhone is great when outside and mobile, the iPad takes care of the rest.
