Didn't we already have a thread with this? I'll need to dig up my 'Media Lab' pic again. Don't know if its on this machine.

There was a thread like this about 3 months back, but I was board and I had just taken some new pictures, people change, computers change, desk change :)

Found it. Currently its not in such good shape as we're putting in a bathroom behind where the photo was taken. All the things that were in storage now crowd the room, I have to crawl over boxes to get to my desk. Hopefully in a couple of weeks I'll be able to move everything back and have my space again.

Glad you like it. I'm looking forward to getting a new machine next year and I'll probably get 3 17" LCD monitors, have a nice landscape for all my windows and palettes. Don't know yet what I'm going to do with the Sawtooth. If I can get a dual 733 or 800 card in her I'll keep it around for a while longer, but they're not available yet.

My set up

This is where I spend most of my day, no wonder why.

Whoo hoo, glad you like it. I am an artist, can't hide that. You will note the matching blue lights and such?

Here we go again

Yeah, we kinda did this one a while back with "what does your desktop looke like?" or something like that. it was supposed to be computer desktops, but ballooned into actual desks. Anywho...here's mine.

why and how did you get such a great set up?

are your parents/older siblings into it and use it? or else, are you just rich? or what? that set up rules.

Let me answer you.

1. You need parents with money and with a blind confidence in you.
2. You may have to be the youngest in the family.
3. You need determination (I like Macs, I like Macs, I like Macs, etc).
4. You need to behave, I mean, show to your parents that you are a good person after all.
5. If your parents doesn't have that much money, at list a good credit would do.
6. My set up is more expensive than that but I'm 27 not 15. When I was 15 my set up was about $1000 I guess, but remember many parents compensate value time with money this days (even mine some times). All what we can do is have fun with it!

a) its the setup I have at work (my dad has a 1/3 stake in the company) and because I work there I have 100% access to it (I have brought it home) so as long as I work there the computers are mine, the 550 TiBook is actually belongs to me :)

b) in six months time I will have worked enough and all the setup will belong to me, i look forward to this date :)

My Hifi cost over £2000 but that was my money (web design jobs) basicly now I am broke I have been on a spending spree while I had a job as a web designer and now I have completed the site (Extranet) there is no money, but I have every thing I want :)

All I want now is to have enough money to install a 12kilowatt PA system in our school hall (we currently have a 200wpc system which is big enough BUT I WANT MORE! It is going to cost well over £20000 for the system we want, any doners?

Absolutely, I've given this much thought, and it comes down to the fact that I'd probably have Lightwave, Modeler and Photoshop up at one time, or FCP and Photoshop. So 3 screens definitely works out better and if the 19" are available (who the hell knows if ther even will be), I'd get those and still spend less than the 23" and have significantly more realestate.
