What are some of your favorite free/cheap shareware programs, and what are they?

(In no particular order)

1) Transmit - ftp
2) Mac Stumbler - presence/singal/strength of wireless networks
3) ClearDock - removes translucent background from the Dock
4) Camino - browser
5) VLC - media player

of the ones that are already in the system my favorite is terminal. (the itunes and iphoto too)

others:

- BBedit

- Safari and Links

- Notes

- Photoshop

- Toy Viewer and Image Indexer. Both are really small softweares, fast and do exactly what they promise. Especially Image Indexer saves a lot of work. :)

1. Weatherpop/Meteorologist (latter has been a bit buggy...)
2. MacJanitor
3. KeepSoundAwake (10.2.6 may have fixed this, but maybe not...)
4. Fugu - sftp/scp app

These are the four apps I use practically every day. I also use CodeTek Multiple Desktop - though recent avalanche of updates got me a little weary that these guys are not checking their apps too carefully as a part of their development process... A bit too much fire-fighting to me...

not "exactly" freeware/shareware but Safari, QT Pro and iChat AV are fine apps from Apple.
