YouTube v5.18.5 - Finally you can DL and playback audio in background

It took forever, but YouTube finally has the capability to DL and watch later as well as keeping audio running in the background. Update is rolling out to everyone now.

My only irritation (and sadly a big one) is why all videos can't be downloaded ? Wanted to download an mkbhd video or such but no luck or other non music videos....

So there are restrictions to which videos you can download and which you can't? Do they stay downloaded in your internal memory or are they downloaded only for a period of time like it was rumored?

They download to your internal storage. Doesn't appear to be an expiration time frame ...

Damn it Google! I just noticed this as well. I also can't find a reason why some can be downloaded, while others can not. Doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason???

Now where is 480p, 1080p and 1440p? I was stoked that the Note 4 in Best Buy had it, but when it came out they "updated" YouTube and removed it.

Stobby provided a link for the apk in the Nexus 6 thread. I can get 1080p and 1440p.

Can you explain exactly how you get 1080p and 1440p on the Note 4 using that apk? I've downloaded the "old" apk from 3 different sites now, uninstalled YouTube, installed apk, cleared app data and cache, and do not have 480p, 1080p, or 1440p.
