Hi there,

My first post on macrumors.com..

Just wondered if any of you guys had seen this problem before. It's my new apple tv. I have tested it with different hdmi cables and a different tv so im positive its the apple tv unit.

I've attatched a photo of the issue...

Looks pretty ugly. I say take it back since its still under warranty. Take the pic w/ you if you can. Good luck.

I've seen that before. It's usually the result of a bad HDMI handshake. Try turning off your TV and receiver, wait for 30 seconds, then turn back on. If that doesn't work, do a reboot of the Apple TV by holding the menu+down button about 5 seconds or until you see the light flashing fast. If that doesn't work, you probably do have a faulty unit.
