I just tried to go to MacRumors.com, only to get this error from Safari:

Perhaps the previously-discussed server upgrade is taking place...

Or G5 PowerBook !!!!!! ;)

I guess its upgrading or maintenance. I'd rather have it down for some length of time, than it going down regularly because of traffic.

I can't get to it either, but for me I get a time out message.

Yeah, it does seem to be back up again. I couldn't get to MacBytes the last time I tried (after MacRumors came back up), though - same error as before.

Even that wasn't working.

Even that wasn't working.

It worked fine for me (and obviously it worked for many other people). Are you sure you typed in the right address?

Yes. The blue bar in Safari advanced 2 centimeters instead of just 5 millimeters on the main site.

The forums have also been unaccessible for a long time for me. I have the main forum page bookmarked, so I don't go through the main site to come to the forums. Even clicking a link in a mail warning me about new replies (that I had received earlier) didn't work.

The site was down for me for around an hour (about 6:30-7:30 EST).

Same here yesterday, although I haven't had any problems today.

yeah... we had some server downtime over the past 24 hours due to the server being physically moved at the datacenter. there were some accompanying config issues.

should be up now... hopefully the 3rd server will be up soon.

Not sure if this has to do with any server maintenance, but the Buyer's Guide is all messed up with weird code at the top of the page, and text seems to be messed up as well.

(Watch this problem be fixed as soon as I post this)
