Hi everybody,

Last week, I activated FileVault in Lion. Everything went smoothly, and I did not find any speed problems. However, I realized yesterday that 200 GB of space on my hdd are gone. I am using a 1TB hdd, and used to have about 400 GB of free space the beginning of last week. Now, just 200 GB are free. The only major chance was the activation of FileVault. Do you think that this is a FileVault related problem? How can I deal with it?

I already repaired the disk permissions, did complete time machine backups, and rebooted several times, but nothing changed.

I'd appreciate your help a lot!

Thanks for the fast response!

Omnidisk says that 557 GB would be used, which seems normal. However, if I check my harddrive in the finder, 792 GB are used. This is what also iStatPro is telling me.

Where does this discrepancy come from?

"About this mac" tells me that 250 GB are used for backups. Probably it is all related to the new time machine. Thanks for your help
