I was wondering if there is a hack to run Lion on my mid 2007 Macbook. Apple said the processor and RAM are OK, but the device is too early. BUT she sorta winked and said, "google around, maybe it can be done."

Doable? What kind of problems could I encounter?

Thanks all for your input!

You can check this thread to figure out if your Macbook is compatible, and whether or not you can get ML working on your computer:

I've been running Lion on my mid-2007 MacBook since it was released. After I installed it, I put some extra memory in (went from 1GB to 3GB) which improved things further, but it was running OK already.

No hack needed. Your MacBook can run up to Mac OS X 10.7.5.

You can find specs on all Apple products, including maximum OS supported:
By visiting EveryMac.com (http://www.everymac.com)
By using Mactracker (http://mactracker.dreamhosters.com/)
By entering your serial number here (http://support.apple.com/specs/) to find specs for your model.

Same as mine

I added 2GB of RAM (3 total) and already had upgraded to 500 GB of HHD last year, but upgraded that to 256GB of SSD before installing Lion. The only issue I have had is in the thread linked below. Go for it, you will like it, now my phone and computers are linked with iCloud which I really like.

Any help on my problem are appreciated
