VUDU/ultraviolet has taken over in a big way. EVERY dvd and bluray in walmart (even old and insignificant titles), have free VUDU digital download copies included. iTunes was on one sole disk in the entire store, Dredd. And Dredd offered both itunes and uv.

For apple tv users like myself, I sometimes get 3D blurays or somesuch and enjoy activating the itunes code to keep 2d version handy and conveniently accessible.

Now I cannot even FIND one.

The studios are doing whatever they can to fight iTunes' domination.

I think its more about them trying to fight piracy-with UV, you really dont have a "physical" digital file-therefore one cannot hack or break the copyright protection on a file that does not exist.

Best buy is the same

Interesting.. I just buy the content that I'm interested in, and I continue to get a mix of UV and iTunes.

I register my UV content so extended family members can watch it, all within their rules.
