It's only out of boredom I suppose. I've been with Apple since the 3G getting every iPhone each year.
The prospects of the 5S looking exactly like the 5 made me think of trying something else.
For such a low price the Ativ S is a lot of phone. Still...
I wonder if I'd just regret it?

Why not a cheaper Lumia 520/620 to test the WP8 waters?
No. To much of a compromise.
With te Ativ S I can get it all out of my system.
Larger screen.
720P screen.
AMOLED.
Different OS.
Plastic made to look like metal.
It's all there in an attractively priced package.

Me and MRU both tried the HTC 8X and ended up selling it
It was WP8. The phone also had a terrible power button which was really flush and hard to use but it was WP8. I had most of my apps or alternatives so it wasn't really that but I just felt limited in what the OS can do. Small things like how to switch to silent and vibrate and hoe there's no system wide rotation lock annoyed me too much.
