Can someone confirm MacBook closed-lid mode with external vga or dvi?

I would like to hook up an external keyboard and mouse or use blue tooth and have my new MacBook (should be here by June 2nd) connected to my LCD when i'm not on-the-go or need the additional screen.

Can you have your MacBook closed while hooked up to a monitor?

i'm very encouraged that i can run silky smooth full res 1920x1080 hd video with a macbook, not even my 2 ghz athlon 64 (windows xp) can do this!

Absolutely. If my 1.66GHz mini duo can do it (it does), yours will be like butter. Enjoy!
 
Thank goodness! I mean, I don't know what I'd do if I couldn't connect my new Macbook to my 32" flatscreen while I was looking @....nevermind. 😀
