Hehe.. A good example was, I was watching TV when an ad for The Truth About Charlie (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0270707/) come on (media-blitz before the movie was released). It took me about 5 seconds to realize it was just a remake of Charade (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0056923/). Which was a great movie. I suspect "TTAC" wasn't so great.

I've had a couple of strands of grey hair sense as long as I can remember. I used to pull them out. Now, I sometimes try to style my hair so that I can show them off.
Also, I realized that I was driving at 10 and 2 the other day. And, I was comfortable. No slouching the the drivers seat with one hand on the shifter. No one hand on the wheel and one on the window sill. It was one firmly at 10 and one firmly at 2....

5 things to do to fight old age
1. avoid shopping at Josesph A. Banks or Norstrom, instead shop at the Bannana Republic or J. Crew
2. exercise so that you can have a lively walking gate.
3. get into the latest music. you can't coast on what you listened to in college..it is just lame
4. dye your hair and pay attention to grooming (much cheaper than plastic surgery)
5. think positive and opportunistic of the future
5 things to avoid because people know that you are desparately trying and failing spectacularly
1. getting that sport/convertable/antique car
2. don't ride a Harley/Davidson
3. your jean waistline should not touch your belly button
4. for god sake avoid talking about getting the Led out...yeah you know what I mean (in case you don't, Led Zeppelin)
5. don't get into wine unless you drink to get drunk
my little tunnel vision view of the world:D

Sorry. Couldn't pass that up. :D (It's a nice diversion ploy for those who are in denial. My first car was a '65 Ford Galaxy 500).
That was a nice car. My father had a 65 Galaxy 500, blue, and completely restored it; new upholstery, rechromed bumpers, new paint... then the brakes failed on it while he was backing the boat and trailer down the boat ramp.
He hit the brakes, nothing, pedal goes to the floor. He grabs the handbrake, but by now the rear wheels are floating, so that didn't help. In desperation, he guns the motor, just in time for the hood to go under, and suck about 20 gallons of salt water in through the carbouretor... Now he's about 20 feet offshore, and sinking fast, so he crawls out the window and stands on the roof. He's going to have to swim for it, but he has his father's heirloom wristwatch on, so he takes it off, shouts to the people on shore "Catch this!" and throws it. The throw's short and the watch smashes on the rocks at the tideline. He swims to shore; by now the car is on the bottom in 15 feet of saltchuck, and the boat is bobbing around nose-down where the cable from the trailer is pulling it down. He crawls out, climbing up the rocks, and finds the watch, in 100 pieces. He turns the watch over and on the back it says... "Waterproof".
They had to get a diver and a towtruck to get the car out.

All of these apply. Loved those 8-Track tapes.
BTW, I remember when the remotes first came out. Folks would leave them on the TVs. So they would get off the couch, go to the TV, pick up the remote, and then use it to change the channel.
BTW2, do you remember the remote control adapters for regular rotary knob TVs? Those where cool for their time.

For me I know I knew I was getting old when I started deciding on whether to play sport (football, tennis etc) based on what I was doing that evening or the next day. It used to be that I could play back to back games of football in a day and then back up for a party that night and a BBQ/bushwalk the next day. Now after a single game I need a long soak in a warm bath and an early night to bed. A low activity next day is required for a full recovery :o.
