Create a new forum dedicated to the iPhone, or should posts regarding the iPhone be in Mac Peripherals or iPod/iTunes Discussion forums? :) Sorry to spring this on y'all so early in the rumour life cycle...

While I agree that it should be in the Peripheral forum, I've never seen a whole subforum dedicated to a (currently) rumor.

but is there much to talk about besides the latest rumor threads?

I suppose there could be a forum for a Tablet/PDA as well as an Apple Sub-notebook. :)

Which forum should new iPhone threads go? If the rumour does come true (highly likely, according to my secret sources), iPhones will certainly be more popular than even iPods.

When in doubt, the Apple, Industry and Internet Discussion forum is OK for anything about Apple that doesn't fit elsewhere, but it's usually used mostly for threads about the company itself, Apple Stores, and Apple services, not specific (rumored) products.

I'm down with the Mac peripherals forum. :)

BUT, the iPhone is not a Mac peripheral. I would've assumed it's closer to the iPod/iTunes category since my secret sources tell me the phone will use iTunes to manage playlists, calendar, contact info and all that good stuff.

Apple is also rumored to call it the iPod phone, to capitalize on the iPod brand name. I can't independently verify these claims, as anything I say would jeopardize the identity of my secret sources. ;)

I can only imagine... if Steve Jobs doesn't introduce the iPhone in MWSF a lot of MR users will cry like hungry babies :D

By the way, a while ago in some iPhone thread, someone suggested the name Teleport for the iPhone, I found it very catchy :eek:
Anyway, on one hand I thinks it's time for Apple to steer clear of the "i" scene, everyone's using it right now, iThis, iThat... :rolleyes: iFinish my post.

We should create an iPhone forum section. We can move all the threads that are sure to propagate until June in there and we can all have our own little iPhonegasms in there.
