If you've got a Darkness and Light shot that was taken outside the December 2006/Jan 2007 Assignment thread period (9 Dec 06 - 31 Jan 07), post it in this thread.

If it was taken in that time period, post it in the Assignment (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?p=3136551) thread

Went for a dig through my iPhoto collection for something to start us off in here - it's tricky since as I've only got a P&S, it can be tough to get something that works without being horribly noisy or with fringing etc

Anyhow... this candle was the lighting in a bar in Rome that I was in during May... Was a little squiffy so it was tough to keep steady to avoid blurring...

Here's one from my recent Caribbean cruise on the Crown Princess. This is the view from the ship's Cafe Caribe. It was my first cruise, and I just loved being on the ocean.

Camera: Pentax Optio S
Exposure: 0.001 sec (1/800)
Aperture: f/4.3

http://static.flickr.com/114/296636567_0081d2d813.jpg (http://cruisenewbie.com/photos/album/crown-princess-cruise-dining-and-shopping/page/1/photo/view-from-cafe-caribe)

If anyone's interested in seeing more, I've posted 300+ photos of the ship here (http://cruisenewbie.com/photos/). Taking pictures indoors on a moving ship was a challenge, so some turned out better than others, but they give you a pretty good idea of what the cruise was like.

This photo was NOT taken by me - but is awesome and seems very appropriate to the "darkness and light" theme.

Congrats to Ricardo Cruz on winning the photo of the day over at imaging-resource.com today for this one:

This is my first post in the photography forum. I'm just starting to learn how use my camera. I really like this shot, its of a close running off the Royal Mile in Edinburgh.

This one caught my eye, figured it was as good as any for this assignment.

From 5 Nov. But I only looked at it for the first time yesterday. It's a composite of two pictures I took.

Here is a tunnel just past the Chain Bridge in Budapest, on the Buda side. I had no tripod and was sitting in the middle of the road, so it's a tad blurred. Taken on my EOS 400D.

You know, there are some that would generally advise against sitting in the middle of the road on a busy city street in a big city in the middle of the night....:D

Taken with my Nikon D80. Constructed from five photographs - a verticle panoramic shot. Taken for a 'light and shade' college assignment, any comments would be great. :apple:
