Hi I have a legal question, if somebody made a video of me and put it online (re, youtube) am I allowed legally to sue (or anything else) them? Just wondering :cool: ?

If you did not sign a release you might technically have grounds, especially if they are 1) profiting in some way from the use of your likeness or 2) harming your public reputation. In both case you might only be able to get a cease and desist order against further distribution of the video. I'd think proving any damages would be impractical or impossible.

Interesting. "They" are not profiting but are harming public reputation. Thanks for the snappy reply.

If you were out in public, and they were on public property, then libel would be your only recourse.

It's probably not what you want to hear, but all but the most extreme cases it will probably be just a court order to have them stop distributing the video.
