So, I am thinking of going the cheap way and getting a firewire hard drive enclosure and a 120gb hard drive to use for video editing.

This is the enclosure http://eshop.macsales.com/Catalog_Item.cfm?ID=5597&Item=OWCMFW5REM
and this is the hard drive http://www.googlegear.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=101205-315002

Will these work together and be just as good as any other external firewire hard drive? Is there anything else I need?

Please reply.
Thanks in advance for any iput/advice!

I don't know why it shouldn't.
It seems good to me. Go for it!

that link wouldnt load for me, but jsut make sure it was an Oxford 911 bridge for your Firewire enclosure. Anything less is not worthy for vid editing.

It says it has the oxford 911 chipset, is that the same thing?

Thanks!

That link is for an enclosure that states that has no fan or front plate and is only for optical drives...

So, while it will work with a HD you maynot want it too...
