Hi, We are going to open a new computer store in Guildford, UK. We will sell mainly Apple hardware and software but we are looking for a cool store name. Any ideas???? Best name will win something! Probably a little cash via Paypal.

Thanks for your help.

"Apple Core"

or just "Core", and your logo is just an apple core with the stem still sticking out from the top. Make it light green.

Booya.

Being as you're selling 'mainly' Apple products, I guess it's safe to assume that you'll also be selling Windows related products, so I'd shy away from Mac related names.

Short one syllable names seem to be all the rage at the moment. I'm thinking things like Byte or Chip. Some names sound daft until you've been saying them for a week so don't immediately dismiss things. I'll keep on thinking.

edit : Just seen Abstracts post. Core is good; despite being Apple related it has many other connotations. I'd avoid a logo with an Apple core on it though to be honest.

Thanks for your advise. We thought of the name MACPAD but it just seems a little cheesy. Any thoughts?

Let's educate the masses: Gibibyte

If that's too close to the hardware vendor, try Kibibyte 1024 or something.

How about 'The Computer Shop'?

😱

Keep it simple and unpretentious. You don't want to put potential customers off.

So this is out of the question?

Sorry i'm running a little dry right now on suggestions, maybe something about being "tasty" since it's an Apple? Maybe synonyms of tasty or something.. it's a thought. But good luck with the business.

Would CHiPS be out of the question? 🙄

Or would there be some copyright issues...

Seriously though, I think Abstract's idea is the best, core sounds great.

And when you open your second shop, it could be Core2, or CoreDuo...

EDIT: Add a gaming parlor next to it: Duel Core

"The porn accessing machine store"

😀 If that one doesn't do it for you, how about "Digi" Short, simple, gets the point across and it's fun to say. Digi!

With "Core", name the hw/sw sub-sections of the store "Hard Core" and "Soft Core" -- that should give you cult status right there!

I assume you have to register your name with some agency? If so, might be wise to keep it generic in case you expand into other non-Apple technology. Also, what about including your location in the name?

Some ideas -

Guildford Computing
Guildford Computers
GuildCom
Guildford Technology
GuildfordTech
GuildTech

You get the idea.
