I've recently seen this article about MRAM (magnetoresistive random access memory) technology that is six times faster and less power hungry than static RAM. You can find it on http://wired.com/news/technology/0,1282,59559,00.html
Seeing as this technology is developed by IBM, could this mean that this technology could be on Apple's before PC's?

I think I saw an article on this somewhere else, not sure where.

Its definitely cool - shutting down you computer would be a snap - the current config would be saved in the memory, since its magnetic and booting up would be like turning on a light switch.

Not that I would need that.....running Folding@home I've got the machines on 24 hrs a day.....but the speed increase is always nice ;)

Yes, hopefully Apple will get it first. It won't happen, of course. :(

And quick(er) start-up = YAY!! :D
