URGENT !!! Sony Mini DV, Not compatible with iMovie!???

i have a Sony DCT-TRV22 (it's a mini DV cam) when i plug it into my Mac via firewire,my iMovie or my Mac isn't able to pick it up. Basically i can't import my videos. Its not my cable because it works on my PC just fine. Can anyone Help me a.s.a.p! its urgent!

Make sure the camera is turned on, and is in playback mode (or whatever it's called).

I have a Sony miniDV camera, and it works fine with iMovie.

when ur in imovie and in import mode, make sure u select your camera from the little choice thingo that is next to the play/import buttons, should be to the left.

Have you ever been able to capture footage from a different camera on your computer?

Make sure your iMovie project settings are correct: Standard Definition 4:3, make sure it is appropriately NTSC or PAL.

I have used the DCR-TRV22 before, and it is definitely compatible with iMovie, so I assume this is a configuration issue.
