i want a external hdd to store movies or tv shows that i don't view all the time, but since i am using it on my laptop i don't want to have to plug it in separately for power. what is the biggest hdd that i can buy that doesn't need a separate power source, and how should i look for that?

I Googled "external hard drive USB powered" and found this one from Iomega. Looks to be what you are looking for.

You want a 2.5" hard drive. Checkout newegg here:

anything 2.5" in size is perfect. you can go up to 320gb i think in 2.5".

i prefer to buy a case seperate to the hard drive, that way you can choose the brand of hard drive, and the brand of case :)
