Hello all!

I'm working on a political poster for an Art Direction class and was wondering if anyone could either A. point me to a tutorial or B. show me how to get an image to look like the statue of liberty..

If anyone can help, thanks a bunch!

You mean you've got an image of a girl in the the statues pose and you what to get a green metal type effect on her skin?

Ya. The picture isn't in the pose but essentially I want to make the man in the picture look like he is made of the "green metal" of the Statue of Liberty so when I put it on top of the mount the Statue of Liberty stands on it looks like the statue of liberty but it's the man.. I think I'm making it sound way harder then it should be...

Easiest way is probably to cut out the person (make it a new layer) and then do a layer tint or similar and then tweak as necessary.

Its not the easiest thing to explain as every image is different.

Google "photoshop displacement map".
The real issue is getting the copper texture to "wrap around" your subject convincingly.

Most important part would be to make it grayscale first, then select all the "colored" clothes, like say a black jacket or whatever, then lighten or darken it so it is the same value as the skin. Statues are not painted, so everything on them is the same value. If you dont do this step then it will just look like a photo of a guy with a texture on top of him, instead of a statue.

After you do that you can simply overlay the texture on top. If the perspective is like a birds eye or worms eye view then make sure to adjust the perspective of the texture as well. To make him look giant you can implement some atmospheric perspective.
