so i decided to give this a try, since i was having trouble with folding@home.

right now, the macrumors team is ranked 292 as a team, with only 8 active members, and 15 with credit.

anyone want to join me in this? rosetta is kinda like folding@home, it's to help cure diseases

just a little update for Rosetta:

we have 20 team members, 9 active, and 16 with credit.

we are now ranked #264 out of all the teams, in terms of recent average credit.

again, this is very similar to folding@home.

I might join, as my schools team isn't taking off very well, but I'll have to wait until my iMac comes back from repair.

When I try to unzip BOINC I get a "could not create the folder" error, so I can't join just yet.

Yes.

ok. do you have any idea why it can't create the folder? can you create a new folder yourself?

How is rosetta@home different and better than folding@home?

the software on your computer is different. to me, it's much easier with rosetta. it uses BOINC to manage your projects - with BOINC, you can do other projects besides rosetta. i am currently doing rosetta and seti

what kind of trouble are you having with F@H ?

i think i already posted about a few problems i was having. but the last time, it would start on a unit, and would get maybe 10-13% done, and then start on a new unit, so it would never finish a work unit

ok we are team number 120, need to recruit more to increase our rank!!! i think getting to 100 is easily doable (10,000 per day). hopefully i can add 1,000->1,500 :)

number 6 already woo!!!

can rosetta do GPU rendering?? it doesnt seem to, which sucks.. ahwell my GPU will have to stay on SETI for the time being haha!

i haven't been doing any projects lately, sorry. i've been using my mac pro as a web server lately, so i've been focused on that.

i might get back into this at one point though

I just joined the MR Rosetta team...

Its been a while since I've done any sort of distributed computing but it still shows up when you search my name on the internets. I've got some free time... let's see what my lil ol' Macbook can do.

Currently #288 in terms of total credit

However in terms of recent average credit looks like we broke the top 100 (#95)!!
