I still have my first Macbook that I bought 1 year ago. Its 1.83GHz, 1GB with 80HDD. I am going off to college this fall and I wanted to upgrade the RAM + HDD.
I am ordering from OWC. These are the two things I am about to order in a few minutes... I really don't want to order RAM from one site and HDD from another.
RAM: http://eshop.macsales.com/item/Other%20World%20Computing/53DR2SPAIR2G/
HDD: http://eshop.macsales.com/item/Western%20Digital/WD1200BEVE/
Is this okay for my Macbook?

Yes, both look good for your macbook, although would 120GB be worth the upgrade? I would consider spending an extra $20 and getting maybe a 160GB which would double your space. Depends on your budget though.

Yep that's the one. I'm a university student and end up with a lot of uni work on my MBP and find that even with a 320GB hard drive I'm having to watch what I'm putting on there (although I have full installs of Final Cut Studio and Logic Studio on there which I am taking off to free up alot of space on my hard drive).

Well I just want a decent HDD for the Macbook. I am going to buy an external HDD in Black Friday.
I guess I'll place an order right now :D.. watched some videos on youtube on how to replace both of them and seems like a piece of cake.
Another question: I have Tiger 10.4 =\ is it okay if I install Leopard considering that I'll have 2GB, 160GB? I don't know how the 1.83Ghz will handle it.

Your Macbook will handle Leopard just fine. I've seen it installed on G4's so yours should be a piece of cake :)

Sorry to bump this thread..
Will that 160GB 2.5" Western DIgital Scorpio 5400RPM SATA Notebook Drive with 8MB Cache make my Macbook very hot or run faster than usual?

No, all temperatures will remain the same, a hard drive doesn't put off a lot of heat. It might run a little faster, but not much that you'll notice.
BTW, don't fret about leopard, I have it installed on a 1.5 Ghz PowerBook and it runs flawlessly. Your MacBook blows my laptop away in performance.

I just installed that same RAM on my MacBook a few days ago and it's working great. No problems at all, just make sure you REALLY push it into the slot, otherwise you'll end up panicking when you start up your computer and you get a black screen :)
I would recommend Hitachi's 7200 RPM 16MB Cache 200GB hard drive, if you're up for it. If you hurry you can take advantage of the rebate offer! OWC and Newegg stock it.

Amen on the H.D.D., although 7200 doesn't have the capacity you're looking for. The two single most important things you can do for any computer, max out your RAM, and fast hard drive speeds. In my PC days, I never, ever built any PC without a WD 10,000 RPM Raptor in it, would regularly boot XP in under 14 seconds. File access was almost instantaneous:eek: I would kill for a 500 GB 7200 RPM H.D.D. for the BMB:cool::apple::apple::apple::apple:
