I am looking for a good movie to rent tonight, and I needed some guidance.

1. LOTR trilogy
2. Ocean's Eleven Trilogy
3. The Prestige
4. Casino Royale
5. Bourne Trilogy

My top 5 change constantly, but this is what it looks like now. As a side note, V for Vendetta and The Guardian were very close.

1. Terminator 2 (has been ever since my dad had me watch it when I was 7 lol yes, he wishes he had a boy hehe)
2. Monty Python and the Holy Grail (sorta cliche I know, but just so funny! all thier stuff was funny, but since you said movie, not show, had to put this up over life of brian)
3. Schultze Gets the Blues (german with subtitles, but awesome and about a salt miner coming to the US to play zydeco music on his accordian)
4. Walk the Line
5. Cinderella Man (russel crow punching people for 2 hours. Amazing - this is a very close tie with Seabiscuit too, both classic underdog - depression stories. GREAT

1)Se7en(amazing directing, acting, script, cinematography)
2)Goodfellas(best crime/mob movie ever IMO)
3)Irreversible(disturbing french film, but the message you get from it is amazing i think)
4)28 Weeks Later(one of my fav zombie movies ever, plus the gore is always fun every once in a while)
5)Heat(great acting and directing with the coolest bank heist ever)

Citizen Kane
GoodFellas
Superman: The Movie
To Live and Die in L.A.
The Ten Commandments (1956) (although I'm very much an atheist.)

Not necessarily in any order:

1. Midnight Run
2. Casablanca
3. Ordinary People
4. Cinema Paradiso
5. Shawshank Redemption

My runners up:

1. Three Days of the Condor
2. The Eiger Sanction
3. Hopscotch
4. 29th Street
5. Diner
6. Room with a View
7. Mediterraneo
8. A Few Good Men
9. Rocky (the original movie)

I've got the stereotypical list, but its true.

In no particular order,
In Bruges, Fight Club, Any of the Ocean's movies, Goodfellas or Casino; but not both, Scarface... I guess that's my 5. I liked Donnie Darko but I've only seen it twice so I'm still not 100% there. Other goodies are Blood Diamond (probably should have put that on my top 5), The Departed and if mindless action is what I need, the Bourne movies.

1. With Honors

2. Finding Forrester

3. In The Heat of the Night

4. The Lake House

5. The Horse Soldiers

Not in any particular order:

Animal House
Caddyshack
A Few Good Men
Goodfellas
Planet of the Apes (all of them)

Made my decision based on the fact that if I saw one of these on tv, I would be irresistably drawn to the couch to watch it. I would probably get yelled at for watching the same movie for the 1000th time, too.

no specific order. top 6 or top 124412424 more like it.

- lord of the rings trilogy

- matrix trilogy

- vengeance trilogy (sympathy for mr vengeance, old boy, sympathy for mrs vengeance) korean films.

- donnie darko

- most of adam sandler's movies.

- young and dangerous (all 7)
