Good day,

I bought my first imac Today at 1:00 PM CST. Well I haven't bought the Apple Care yet, but I do plan to in the next month. However I'm I'm curious what can't they fix when your covered by the protection plan? For example will it cover if your imac over heats, or if you accidentally drop it?

Thanks for any advice!

I believe they would cover overheating, as that would be the manufacturer's defect- ie, their cooling/fan system was not enough to keep your computer clean, so it overheated (and broke). However, dropping it is accidental damage, and is NOT covered.

AppleCare covers all faults that can be attributed to the manufacturer, but it does not cover faults caused by the user.

Great thanks for the explanation! I've been wondering about it for weeks!

Thank you both!
