View Full Version : Your 3 superpowers?

mgargan1

If you could have 3 super powers what would they be? Mine would be: 1. Total Time control (kind like Zack Morris in Saved By the Bell), 2. Be able to teleport (kinda like Night Crawler), and 3. Be able to speak every single language on the planet fluently.

1. The ability to be happy whenever I liked. And a non-superficial happiness.
2. Time control I guess - I mean, who wouldn't want that?;)
3. The ability to have anything I wanted whenever I wanted it.

ability to fly. ability to set fires with my mind. or, telekenesis, if you include telepyrokenesis in that. and the ability to kill people with my mind, tho again that may be covered under TK.

i wouldn't want teleportation or time-control, you have to follow *some* rules, or it would just be boring.

there it is

my #1 Control minds and you can have people move dates for you, (who needs time traverl) not give you any work ... give you lots of money for doing nothing

you can convince people to do with things that other superpowers are limited too

super strength? have someone move stuff for you, see through women's cloths? how about to convince them to take their cloths off?

although flying would be cool, convince airplanes to let you fly for free and government let you land anywhere

who needs to stop bullets when you can convince them not to shoot you in the first place

yes mind control is where it is at ...or more accuratly .. UNQUESTIONABLE POWER OF PERSUASION ... LOL

Ideal:
The ability to acquire any super power at will. For example, think: "teleportation...teleportation..." then have teleportation until you want something else.

Otherwise:
Invisibility
Shapeshifting/Body Changing
Mind Reading/ESP

There's something to be said for mind control, and then again, there's something not. If you always had the option of getting people to do whatever you wanted, wouldn't you get bored after a while? Never any arguments, never any struggle. If someone annoyed you you could make them jump in a lake. Which is funny the first twelve times, I suppose. No mind control would breed laziness and ruthlessness. It's not for me.

Now telekinesis, with a high degree of power and control, could be fun. You've already obviously got the power of flight. Also, super-strength. Just grab the car with your hand and lift with your mind. You've also got invulnerability. Simply stop the air molecules around you from moving. Boom - instant invisible shield. Bullets hit it and bounce off. Or I suppose you could just stop the bullets themselves. The fun part is, this all requires mental effort and precision. You'd have to train your mind to be able to do all these things, instead of having them just be.

Mind reading might not be too bad. You'd still have to persuade people, but you'd definitely have an advantage, assuming you don't give yourself away. If you used that power too freely people would get pissed at you, and probably hostile. And I certainly wouldn't want to get on the freeway during rush hour. :)

The ability to read a book just by looking at it. Step into a library and do a 360° turn and be 600x smarter.... sounds good to me. ;)

I'd rather have that than time control. Time control could very well ruin a life.

This is a cool thread.

strange powers mentioned. For instance ability to control nature; would in effect bind you to nature - poisons pollution would affect you as well no?? or may weaken your powers no??

Ability to travel faster than the speed of light would in essence start to make you younger as well as travel backwards in time. This could turn you into your daddy's little skirt, no?LOL.

Now the abiliity to become invisible, some of us since grade school have been able to do that on a regular basis. Some people aren't as popular or fashionable as others nor as great conversationalist, and thus just disappear in a crowd.

Now telekinesis is what I also wish for.

Time travel, and controlling time, not for me. Living for ever is just like dying for some of us that are "invisible" to most others.

I am certainly not going to waste my superpower wishes frivolously, as some of you have!

1. The ability to open envelopes without getting an occasional papercut.

2. The ability to remember to show my discount card when I make a purchase at Best Buy.

3. The ability to say Save As instead of Save when I open an old document to make a new document that's a variation of it.

1 - The ability to fly. I always thought it would be cool to be able to just walk out into the yard and just take off into the air.

2 - The ability to move things with my mind. Man, how I would love to just be able to concentrate and then have all of the pecan's sitting out in the orchard rise up and come fall in my bucket!

3 - The ability to freeze. Like Iceman from X2. I've always been fasinated(SP) with ice and being able to freeze what I want or create walls of ice would kick @$$!

I think for most things mental suggestion is as far as you'd want to go. Otherwise you'd be too focussed on controlling the other person and lose track of your own activities. This is not the ideal situation in intercourse.;)

Better to broadcast your own "fun" and get a kind of feedback loop going. "Mind Control" is overrated. It takes too much concentration.

Be immortal would get boring after a few thousand years, plus people could still kill you, you just cant die naturally. Because you can live forever, you might not be bothered to do anything, as you can always do it later. So you end up not doing anything, until the Earth ends in 1million years time (when Sun explodes).

I beg to differ. To rephrase it, if "mortality is what some say makes us human," then to lose that mortality, some would lose the very essence of what makes them human.

Although personally, I think death is vastly underrated. I've seen old age. I watched my grandmother wither away for 10 lonely years before she died. I want no part of that. Pass the cheese-fried pork skins. ;)

I dunno... after a while... everything is repetitive, no?

Also... You can still be HURT! Are you gonna Karate chop an exploding Star? I think not.

How many times do I have to explain this? My superpowers work together. If I can summon any material object into existence, I can summon more hydrogen into the star, preventing the explosion. Then I can summon a gigantic spaceship to save humanity.

Or, if you were distracted for a minute and--oops, too late, everyone is dead--you could just reacreate them. And you could leave off the ones who annoyed you, like Michael Jackson and every reality show producer on the planet. It's not murder if they're already dead. ;)

Yeah it was often wondered how many beer(s) it would take to travel back in time. I believe the jury is still out...;)

Somewhere around 12 will cover traveling forward in time by large gaps. I know this from personal experience. I believe it can be proven scientifically that these forward jumps will cancel out all of the backward jumps and the best you can do is to stop time, although it requires a perpetual keg stand.

Funny story about time control right. I was sitting in my biology lecture one day zoning out because I hate it, and I thought "How funny would it be to stop time, take off everyone's shoes, and put then on their desk right infront of them" That's what I would use my time control for.

I was thinking about the kidneys thing, and I would prefer livers, because I drink a lot, but that's not my super power.

Anyway, super powers.
Time control as well, in a Twilight Zone kinda way.
Invisibility
Teleportation

Yeah. I think that's it. But I'd be totally evil about it and rob banks and stuff. Except with the time thing. I'd just mess with people's heads.

Let's see...

1. Eternalness (combination of immortality + immorbidity + indestructability... live forever without aging and without being able to be killed).

2. Realtime ability to edit reality at the quantum level, so as to be able to change the laws of physics as I wish or change anything in the Universe (except for the human mind).

3. Ability to open quantum wormholes through spacetime, so that I could see any location and time in the universe, past or present (but not future)... I'd like to be able to see exactly how things played out in the past.

1. Web-slinging. Because spiderman is beyond cool. I wouldn't really use it, though, except to decorate at halloween parties and such. And maybe as a party trick.

2. Shapeshifting. Change into Steve, walk into Apple headquarters, and come out with the G5 laptop that is rightfully mine.

3. Superhuman speed(with stamina). So I can get to my classes on time, wake up my roommates by creating sonic booms, and indirectly get other abilities like walking on water.

I wouldn't want to be able to mind read. It would be dsturbing to enter the mind of a man, seeing as we supposely think about sex every 6 seconds. And entering the mind of a woman would over-complicate me and probably give me a brain hernia.

What a great idea for a thread :)

1) Teleport - Obviously anywhere in the universe would be good, although you'd need to know what the conditions are where you're going, hence #2
2) Omniscience about any one subject whilst concentrating - Know the consequences of own actions, what others are thinking, where bad things are happening, and conditions at teleport destination. Only when concentrating though. Everyone needs a night off.
3) Manipulate any matter within a certain range. Harden own body to invincibility level, break/destroy weapons/vehicles of adversaries, heal others, fix stuff just by concentrating on how to fix it then manipulating the atoms to a fixed state etc.

Those just about cover it I think.

Wouldn't we all like to start life over again but retain the knowledge we have now? We'd know all the right choices to make!

Hmm.... on second thought, it wouldn't work. We'd be labeled precocious, skip primary school, and go straight to college, so it wouldn't really be living our same lives over again. And it would be starting in 2007, not when we were born, so the world around us would be different.

And even if you stuck to your original life in the original years, as soon as you made one different decision based on your extra knowledge, that would change your path, so your other memories might not apply. And if you stepped on (or didn't step on) a butterfly, MacRumors might never exist!

Hot and cold tolerance aren't what they used to be, but I still fly bacon with my bare fingers and pull single strands of spaghetti out of a pot. No more walking barefoot in the snow sadly.

this got me thinking a bunch, but my three would be:

1. telekinesis: lots of possibilities there, flying, fighting, object manipulation, etc.
2. regeneration: don't take a bad beating if you're a dare devil, plus longer life span.
3. this is a toughie, but i would go with energy transformation: turn wind power against your opponents in battle, windy day, turn it into power for your home, lots here too.

i'm the creative type, i need lots of possibilities for my abilities.
