I have the first 24" with 2,16 iMac with the 512 graphics card that I bought almost exactly 2 years ago.
I´m wondering how much faster the new 24" is?
Is it any point to upgrade?

The only "heavy" app I use is FCS, mostly I use a MP at our editing suite for that, but i do tend to bring work home from time to time.
As expected, Motion is the only app I feel is not running well (but I don´t us it much anyway).

I´m thinking of upgrading mostly not to have this iMAc fall too much in value before reselling, but if the difference it´s not that big I´ll might hag onto it until it dies

I'd think a 3.0 would be faster, but since you aren't a heavy user, and yours works fine, why spend the money? Enjoy your investment:eek:

If you are still satisfied with the performance of your iMac I would hold on to the cash you would spend on an upgrade.

A couple of iMac upgrade cycles from now you should be able to get a substantial boost in performance.
