The Tegian Zone (Nee "TEG's Sci-Fi Zone") v6.0
Not yet complete, I'm working on getting many of the pages up. I built it with tables, I'm going to try creating a CSS version after I get the pages implemented. At least this is better than the Frames Version I used to have.

Also, it links to all my other pages, or what I have of them so far.

Well it says on my site what I use, but here is the list;

Claris Home Page 2.0
Dreamweaver MX
Photoshop 3.0
Photoshop CS
AppleWorks 6

Well since everyone is getting into the fun:

My "I do this for fun" site: http://www.westsidegardener.com/. Note that it won't look as good on IE, and will be absolutely broken on Netscape 4. :D

My "this is my day job" site: http://www.ee.washington.edu/

Edit: Forgot to answer the other question. For the most part I've coded HTML and CSS by hand using some combination of SubEthaEdit, Nedit, and TextPad - depends on what OS I was using at the time. I use Dreamweaver for quick updates once a template has been set up, and images were all Gimped or Photoshopped.

Unfortunately some of the users responsible for updating the "day job" site's pages are stuck with FrontPage, which doesn't always play nice with non-IE browsers; so I have to clean up problems as I find them by hand (a real pain in the... neck, if you've ever seen FrontPage generated code).

I just looked at an awsome solution at http://www.cms-content-management.com this is a site builder that has wizards to optimize your site for search engines as you build it. It also has email marketing built right in and keyword research tools shopping carts affiliate programs. I am still looking around but as far as I can tell this one is worth at least looking at. I am curriouse what others think about it.

I started to design websites just as a hobby this year. I had the opprotuinity to work on a course website at The Evergreen State College, so I bought a copy of dreamweaver. One day i would like to learn code but right now this is just a hobby and possibly a chance for me to earn a little extra cash. The course website is below. I'd love to know what you guys think -n

my current 'see if i can make all this junk work' project is a phpnuke site for the irc channel #firefly.

http://s94698184.onlinehome.us/nuke/html/

the graphics were done in photoshop, and the coding has been done mostly in textedit and kate. phpnuke doesn't really lend itself to wysiwyg editors because of the nature of how the system works. but that would be a long explanation that would confuse us both. a lot of it is over my head still, but i keep plugging away, and the thing does seem to work. what are hobbies for if not figuring junk out, right?

and hey, watch firefly. :D

sorry guys i forgot about this thread. anyways the reason for the interest is because im a real estate agent here in hawaii looking to maybe soon get a web page up. i will be going over all the web pages that were posted, so keep them coming, please.

heres a brief description of what i want. a simple web page consisting of around 3 pages. i already designed a simple logo for myself and i want the web page to have a professional and simple yet a 'fresh' design. also i want something compatible. compatible meaning i want something fast loading with not so many large images for dial up users. i dont want a 'intro' page, especially one instructing me to change my resolution and directing me to either a flash or HTML site. no frames. keep it simple, stupid! how much would it cost to design something like this?

after that is designed i will be looking to have the web designer add another page or two with my current listings as well as a few select listings that are not mine for the buyers. im not concerned about the price of this as of yet.

i am also looking to have a student or a inspiring web developer do this project.

please PM me if your interested in this small project

i went over all the posted sites and here are the designs im interested in...

i really like the site made by Thirteenva, rightreasontech.com. great use of the color blue, very simple yet professional looking and it has that 'up-to-date' look.

Rover_CPUs site, larcnet.sdsu.edu is great also. its not simple like what i asked, very 'busy' i guess, but it just looks good.

i will definately be interested in web pages from either of you, i love your styles.

ptowns site buntonmotorsports.com/mcr is good. your typical good professional looking site but i wanted more of an edge to it.

mangoduck with mangoduck.popflux.com is very interesting but a little to out there for what i want.

I'm glad you liked it. I currently work full time as the graphic designer and web developer at the company who's site you looked at. I've been thinking about taking on some freelance side work again. So if you decide to move forward with the site, feel free to contact me. I'm honest about my schedule and if I cannot take on your project at that time, I will let you know so as to not waste anyones time or compromise the quality of the work.

No matter who you decide on, you'll be in very good hands with the wealth of talented people who've posted their sites.

Hi, I posted previously, but I have just made a radical overhaul of my website.

Please take a look and let me know what you think.

I greatly appreciate any feedback - you may notice that I am starting an Apple section - any ideas about what to include?

Here's my personal/portfolio/resume site (It's a work in progress. I just created it about a month ago):

http://www.brentmaraman.com

Currently the domain just forwards to my my .Mac homepage. As soon as I get the pictures, videos, and other pages up, I'm going to host it someplace other that .Mac.

It's just simple HTML. I don't know anything about CSS or flash or any of that stuff. I'm taking Online Media 1 right now, and next semester I'll take Online Media 2 where we learn about creating flash movies and stuff like that.

It was a misunderstanding on my part also. The first time I looked at your post, I didn't see the part where it mentions your private web site, so it looked a lot like those usual spam posts to me :). ...What kind of photography equipment do you use?

thanks & no problem :)

re. photo equipment - I have been using a Nikon F100 w 20mm/f2.8 WA lens, Sigma 105mm/f2.8 and Nikon 80-200mm/f2.8 lenses mostly. A lot of the newer city-photos are taken with a Dimage Xt - quite a difference in many ways. The tiny Dimage Yt is great to "always carry along", but obviously it lacks in low light, depth of view etc. compared to an analog SLR or even e digital SLR. I'm still waiting for a good replacement for my analog SLR, but I don't want to spend more than maybe $1200, a more robust Nikon D70 would be my dream right now. We'll see what the fall brings... but on a more general note I think you can take good pictures with any brand and lens combo, always depends what your preferences are.

take care

I do a couple web sites, one for my business and an Apple site parody. I loved iLife '84 (http://woz.gs/tim/ilife84/), so I decided to do the entire Apple Site. I call it Apple '84. Check it out at http://www.geocities.com/applesite84. Right now, only the home page, mac page, design page, and support page work, but I'm working on putting up the whole Apple site.
