The best one is making Safari act like IE5.22 or netscape etc as My bank will only work with a certain browser.

If you ever want to turn the Debug menu off, repeat those steps but type 'defaults write com.apple.Safari IncludeDebugMenu 0' into Terminal instead.

hold command (apple) and click/press return to open pages in a new tab. works with google search bar, URL address bar or any of the links on a page.
most everyone probably knew this already...
click on the web site icon (or the blue circle, by default) on the URL address bar to highlight the entire address with one click.

Adding to this - Holding command and clicking on any of your shortcuts in the bookmark bar will open it in a new tab.

Also in the Debug menu is 'Keyboard and Mouse Shortcuts' which gives a complete list of Safari's shortcuts (as of Safari 1.1 I think). Alternatively, you can get it at file:///Applications/Safari.app/Contents/Resources/Shortcuts.html, provided that Safari is in your Applications folder.

Help! :( I typed this in to Terminal...
defaults write com.apple.Safari IncludeDebugMenu 1
and it didn't work. It says "-bash: defaults: command not found
-bash-2.05b$ "
What does that mean?

Firstly how do you get auto tabs...
And when I click I dont need to Option-Click????? or am I not understanding correctly?
ie is Auto tab like the news "News" on the bar?
With your bookmarks window open, select Bookmarks Bar. You can create a folder in here by clicking the + button at the bottom. Put your related sites into the folder. To open all the sites at once in tabs select the "Auto-Tab" checkbox.
Another useful tip: You can spell check as you type by going to the Edit Menu -> Spelling. I just now found this out. If only I had known...

Are we talking REALLY simple here? I have a few...
It's all about the favicon. On this Web site, it's the little apple icon to the left of the address. On other sites, it's a different icon, but it's there.
Single-click it to highlight the address. Better than the triple-click us "switchers" are used to.
On a site and want to add a quick bookmark to your bookmark bar? Drag that favicon to the bookmark bar.
