View Full Version : ipod w/windows - can i copy files to it from a mac?

hi all

i really wasnt sure where to post this so apologies if its in the wrong forum

i am the proud owner of a new 20gb ipod :D :D :D and i run windows xp :(

anyhoo, a colleague of mine suggested he brings his powerbook in tomorrow and donates some music to me for my listening pleasure - is this ok to do, and if so how?

also can i copy files from the ipod to my imac at work?

again... how :confused:

it's not ok, but you can do it. windows formatted iPods will work with a Mac with no problems. not so the other way around.

you will need a 3rd party hack to move music from iPods to a Mac.

when you say its not ok do you refer to file sharing? because he was on about i should hear a couple of tracks, not like steal his entire music collection, i'm not into that.

am i right in guessing i just need to take the firewire cable?

i was referring to file sharing. it's not ok, but not much can stop you. ;)

anyway, yes, just take your FW cable. enjoy.

also the excuse to show the pretty thing off is most welcome... especially to the kid with some 40gb brick thing thats full of awful wma's...
