I took apart my ibook yesterday to establish what sort of cable i needed to separate the screen and have it a distance away from the iBook base. I took lots of pictures and here is a tutorial I wrote showing how to do it if anyone else is interested.

lol - yeah it does. although I do have 19 screws left over which is a bit disconcerting!

there are links in this thread (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=66054) to pages on how to disassemble an ibook to upgrade/replace the hard drive.

if you really have 19 screws left over, it might be an idea next time to keep a list of where each and every screw was as you remove them :)
