I remember hearing the phrase "whisper quiet" when describing earlier Mac Pro noise levels. Is this still true of the newest 8 core iteration?

Nice! Thanks for the info.

Any experiences from 8 core owners (preferably 2.93's, and lots of memory)?

it's so powerful that it actually bends space-time and outputs the sound 3 years ago.

Explains why the PowerMac G5 was so loud, then. :D

I'd also like to know if the 2009s are quiet. From the few photos available of the innards, it looks like there some slight design changes.

Does anyone yet know if any of the stock fans and mounts can be swapped for third party components?

With the exception of the "whine up" fan when you first turn on the Mac Pro it runs ultra quietly.

Switching the fans wouldn't help any. Atleast on my 06 Mac Pro the loudest part is the CD drive and the x1900. Followed by the hard drives then the fans. The new ones should be pretty similar to this.

Thanks guys,

Anyone with a hot-burnin' 2009 2.93 Octopro care to sound in?

Thanks for info.
I am interesting which videoadapter (HD 4870 or GT 120) is quieter in 2D-apps?
