I just uploaded a test video onto Vimeo, of footage from my new Canon HV30

It is real jumpy in both Safari and Firefox... I am using a G4 and it appears to max out the 1.67 processor...

Is the G4 that lame?

I'm going to blame the venerable G4 and Flash. It's working fine on my office's Core 2 Duo.

Yes, that was my worry!

I thought it might have been my compressor settings, which were exactly what Vimeo had asked (H.264 and 5000kbps)

I should also have asked you guys to post your machines.

I work on an 8Core Mac Pro in work, I guess I have to bite the bullet at home now!

Strangely, the other videos on my account seem to display a lot more smoothly.

Well my machine stats are;

2 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo
4GB 667 MHZ DDR2 SDRAM
Mac OSX 10.5.6

The video was jumpy the first time I played it. After that it played fine.

I found it interesting to have a chance to see some footage from the HV30,
I would like to see more (if I look at your other posts are they from the HV30 also) as I am currently thinking of replacing my old Sony HDR-SR5E.

No the other footage (16:9) was shot with a Sony HVR-A1E.

The Canon footage is completely unaltered. It really is that beautiful without any colour correction. That was shot in 25p and [CINE] mode.

Well, for what it's worth it looks excellent to me.
So much so I will make a similar shot on my camera for comparison sake.

I might feel a purchase coming on...:D
