What's the point of the two stickers that came with my iMac?

Ive seen people put them on their cars. When I went to a recording studio with my old band, the engineer had one on the studio door. I have one on the front skin of my bass drum!

Its pretty obvious why they come with stickers - owning a mac is something people are proud of and like to show off about!

I stuck one of mine onto my TB external drive, the other one's sitting in the box waiting to be put to 'good' use. Really, do whatever with them. Throw them in as an extra on your next e-bay sell.

One thing I will not do with them is put them on my car. To me that tells a potential thief that there could be an ipod inside, not good to advertise such things. And no, I don't leave my ipod in my car, but still!

I got stickers in the box with my 3g (new). Stuck it to my black s10 too. You might want to wait for an s12 though if you haven't bought one yet!

The stickers work sort of like State Inspection Stickers. If Steve Jobs comes to your house on a surprise inspection and you do not have the sticker properly placed on your mac, he will confiscate it and replace it with an eMachines from 2002.

I know for a fact that I have made at least one convert with it. I had someone come up to me at the mall and I actually had my MB with me with parallels installed. The lady played with it for about 15 minutes then went into the Apple store to get one. :)

My school just bought 10 iMacs, so my teacher had 20 Apple stickers laying around. He just gave them to people.

Don't worry, I stuck one on my rear window too. It helps me and my family quickly identify the car in crowded parking lots. As for being thief-bait, I don't leave any Apple stuff in the car and I remove my radio head-unit when I'm away for longer than a few minutes (immediately if I'm parked in a higher-risk area). The sticker may attract would-be ne'er do well folks but there's nothing to see through the windows... :)
