Would it be possible for Apple to allow direct video recording from the iSight directly into the iPod? The iSight gets pretty good quality. If you had both, plug them in...iPod recognizes it through a software interface and you have a make shift digital video camera. I suppose the iPod battery would have to power the iSight via firewire.

So, is this even technically possible? Could the iPod encode real-time video directly from the iSight?

Id say it could be possible, since firewire devices dont need a computer to communicate with eachother but, since the new ipods dont even have built in firewire ports anymore, I dont think thats the direction Apple is looking to go into.
