:D :D :DGood luck with it! Trust me, you'll fill it up faster than you'd expect :D
p.s. If you really think you won't use all that space, you can create an 80 gig partition and back up your PB hard disk using CarbonCopyCloner. Can't hurt to be safe...plus you can boot from it and it will smoke your internal hard drive.

Well, some of us make poor decisions too...but don't feel bad...I can think of something you can do with that drive- I can safely take the drive off your hands without putting you through too much emotional turmoil...just hand the drive over and no one will be hurt...the "check" is already in the mail...I am sure your 80GB will be fine for years to come...and thanks for the present...how did you know it was my wedding anniversary?!?!
:D
Really, I am so sure you will find a way to fill it up. I wish I had one so I easily keep digital footage from my iMovies instead of deleting everything after burning a few copies of the movie. I want to at least be able to save the clips in case I want to go back and use them for something else later, but space is hard to come by...unless you change your mind about keeping I guess. :o

i got a 200GB external drive a few months back. i just make a clean backup of my 40GB PB drive every couple of weeks and i have filled up about 3/4 of the drive already. i guess i can start deleting old backups! but yeah, i really dont know what to do with all the space either other than redundant backups of stuff i never use.

What, you didn't take the plunge and get the Bigger Disk (http://lacie.com/products/product.htm?id=10118) from LaCie? It's *only* 1 terabyte big! ;)

:D :D :D a few suggestions
DVD Archive.
Uncompressed Audio Collection.
More porn than you could shake a stick at.
I personally find my 200 GB of storage to be a bit tight.

Haha, well aside from pr0n, if you are a sports fan and ARMED with a TV tuner card, you can record all your team's games. If you do this, especially at the highest quality, you will find that 200GB can disappear very, very quickly. This is kind of like, how did i ever survive with only 80? Then 280? Then 500? and so on...there's always a use for the space.

well... I have a total of 360 gb of storage available at home.... I deleted huge movie files recently to be able to store other things.... if I had a 250 gb drive, I would use it all....
Trade you for my 120 LaCie?

I just got a 160gb hard drive from CompUSA for $80, and an external case for it... I'm moving stuff over so I have some free space on my poor PowerBook...

hehe, and that's the problem. You may think you have all the drive space you will ever need, but broadband + BitTorrent/IRC etc means you very quickly fill it up!

i find 200G drives a better deal. OWC has Lacie external 200GB for less than $200!
