I'm so amped for WWDC, it's going to be awesome! It'll make the latest WinHEC thing where they previewed Longhorn look like a serious snoozefest (as though it wasn't already, as I would be willing to bet that Longhorn will incur at least one virus before it even ships!)

I think it'll also make up for January 6th and "the intro that wasn't." Save for the iPod mini anyway... are those available yet? ;)

To quote Huggy Bear in Starsky and Hutch:
"Naw, but I know some people who know some people that robbed some people."
Hopefully Steve will address the lack of mini iPods and what the frizz is going on.

As someone interested in the enterprise market, I thought Apple's announcement of the Xserve G5 was a VERY big deal.
I might consider getting an iMac G5 if they announce them at WWDC, but I'd rather have a dual 3GHz tower. :)

Woops! fair enough! I wish I had a reason to be in the business of needing an Xserve G5... oh well :(

I was planning on buying the new iMac G5 when they release it, but since I just moved, I think I'm better off w/ a laptop. damn...

after you buy an imac, and it goes out of date.. is it possible to just use the screen from an imac with a powermac tower?

Sadly, no. Someone wasted all that money on a screen that is out-dated as soon as the computer is.

I believe there's another thread about this on MacRumors here (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=74252). Still, though, I'm looking forward to G5 iMacs (even though I'm not in the market for a computer right now...I bought the G4 iMac I have in February 2004). WWDC 2004 looks to be an exciting event - I'll be sure to watch the keynote!

I think I posted this an hour before the "official" MacRumors post by arn...but thanks for the heads up! I just got excited when I saw it and wanted the world to know. :)

No, iMac line is suffering badly in sales. They need a complete refresh of form factor and a performance bump that only the G5 can give if they are really to light up sales of the iMacs again.

Right, but what I meant was, maybe some of the quote-un-quote cosmetic changes, in addition to the G5 is the ability to separate the monitor... like the iBump (http://forums.macrumors.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=9391).

It looks more like a hump, to me. They should call it the iHump ;).

You are better off reselling the iMac for lots of cash to pay for something new. I have always received decent value for reselling my macs and iMacs over the years...especially considering they were almost all four years old.
