I thought most current cards did support it, a lot of the more expensive monitors do, but there's no software pathway for it except on specialized stuff?

10-bit per component, not 8-bit.

The only one I can think of, is the nVidia Quadro 4800 that works in a Mac. ;)

Check the datasheet (http://www.nvidia.com/docs/IO/63157/NV_DS_QFX_4800_US_Nov08_LowRes.pdf), 2nd page, 3rd heading down. :D

Not exactly cheap though, as the MSRP is $1699USD.

That's not the Mac Edition datasheet. I read that for Mac, only 8-bit is supported.

The Mac version's data sheet didn't say one way or the other, so I checked the PC data sheet, which shows 10bit per support.

I figured they didn't actually break that on the Mac side. How foolish of me. :D :p

BTW, how did you confirm this was the case?

There was some ranting at engadget. OSX had a limitation and I don't see any news for any Leopard.

I'll see if I can find it.

It might be worth sending an email off to nVidia to see what they have to say about it. There's a good chance they'd answer it. :p
