My mini was shipped yesterday using TNT express (Ireland?).
I haven't found anymore details yet of where it is now or when its arriving.
I ordered within 2 or 3 hours of them being available so I guess I'm quite near the top of the queue. It wasn't due to ship until 26 July though so its 6 days early!
I can't wait to see it, and I'm so glad it'll be here in time for my wife's birthday (It's her present). :D

Man, you are lucky... congratulations!
I ordered my Mini seconds after the Apple Store came back online with the Minis available for order. My order status is still 'Open', even though my credit card has been charged. Also, someone else in Australia received their 'personalised' (whatever that means - engraved?) Mini yesterday, having ordered it the day after orders were available...
So all this leads me to think - and I wish they would hurry up with mine already! ;)

Hopefully your wife will be bowled over ;)

Mine shipped too, I started a thread (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=80686) last night.
Your right there are no details on the shipping though which is a bit confusing it would be nice to know when to expect a delivery so I can listen out for it. All I know at the moment is it left luxembourg on the 19th.

How do you know it left Luxembourg? I can't even find that much information. All I know is that it was shipped on the 20th using TNT Express (Ireland) Ltd, hence I assumed it was coming from Ireland. Maybe not though, thats just where Apple are.
Apple gave me an 11 digit tracking number but it doesn't seem to work on the TNT website. They want a 9 digit number, and I have tried knocking 2 off either end but still no luck.
Please let me know when yours arrives as mine is a day behind I think! Hope you like it!

Mine is with TNT Nederland B.V. according to Apple, if you click on the tracking number from the Apple order status page, it lets you track it there, although I am not sure how up to date it is. Under activity the last thing mine did was depart from luxembourg 19 July, so it's had 2 days so far. I wonder where it is.

There's nothing showing under 'activity' for me yet. I guess it will come from Luxembourg though if yours did. I hope it doesn't show up today because my wife will be home before me today for a change, and she's not supposed to see it yet ;)

It doesn't look like mine is going to show up today, it's a shame the tracking is so poor compared with the other couriers I have used. I don't really know whether to wait around for delivery or not. I would have thought it would have been here within 2 days of shipping from luxembourg, but obviously not. May be tomorrow

I got a shipping notication email yesterday. it came from Shanghai with KN High Tech Logestics. KN bring it to Luxemburg or the Nederlands where TNT take over. TNT has no record of it so i assume its still in KN's hands. From past experiences i know that K&N are very slow but once TNT get it should be delivered within 24 hours.
Forget about apple's tracking system. Use www.apecode.com. Just enter your tracking number from Apple's order status page.

I just checked my order status and I have a new tracking number which TNT actually understand, it seems they only picked it up today despite it being in Luxembourg for two days. Still no idea of when to expect delivery, hopefully it will update by tomorrow morning.
I get really fed up waiting around for delivery but as I have no car to go collect I have to make sure I get it. I wish we could just book delivery times, it would be such a better service than waiting around all day.

Just checked mine as well. TNT have it finally. Ours must be in the same shipment. I've had very good experiences with TNT in the past. So i could get it tomorrow (i'm in ireland). Check again later around 11pm, it might be updated by then.

Hi guys
Just to let you know my silver mini shipped on the 15th - which was 11 days early, but it hasn't arrived yet!
I've also ordered the new ipod 20GB on the 19th which said at the time - ship time 2 to 3 days and now it has been changed to - on or before the 2nd August!!! I was hoping to have it by the end of the week

I've also got the TNT tracking code now. Apple say it shipped yesterday and TNT seem to have got it in Ireland this evening. I think (hope?) it will get to me on Friday but if I'm lucky maybe it'll be tomorrow?

It seems pretty strange how some are coming from Luxembourg and others Ireland, especially when ones going to Ireland come from Luxembourg  I would have thought Apple would have one big shipping depot, but obviously not. I hope mine comes tomorrow although I'm not holding out too much hope. Glad to see a few people all getting shipping receipts though. Mine is currently in Eindhoven incase anyone cares, although not anyone dutch who might hijack the truck!
I'm not quite sure what I'm going to do with it when it gets here, I have three on order due to a change in heart on colour :o

I only want one; I just had a bit of a nightmare with colour choice. I always wanted the pink, but thought I might not be able to pull it off being a guy and all. In the panic of ordering as soon as I possibly could after refreshing the Apple store over and over to be first in line, I decided to get blue, which is the one on its way from Apple. I slept on it overnight and changed my mind I really wanted pink, but now there was a huge backlog on the Apple store. So I tried some resellers and managed to get pretty high on the list of two resellers for a pink one. Thus now I have 3 on the way and am still not sure which colour I will prefer in real life, as all the pictures I've seen the colours look different. Yup I'm an idiot and have no idea how I get into these situations either
If they all get here soon I should be able to make a nice profit on eBay anyway :D

Jul 22, 2004, 01:28 AM
ha - I think the pink ones are cool too, but I wouldn't get away with having one myself. I don't like the blue, I think I'd go for green if I was choosing for myself. I hope my wife will like this pink one though.
It arrived at Cardiff airport at 5.50 this morning, and that's not very far from Dursley.... only an hours drive.... so maybe it will arrive today....

WOW!
TNT don't hang around once they've got it do they? Cork last night, arrived Cardiff Airport 5.50, arrived in Yate (north of Bristol) 8.07 and out for delivery by 8.29.
Its going to come to me today and I'm not at home to receive it! Arrghhh! And I will be travelling home from work with my wife today so if there's a delivery note then I'll have to quickly get in and hide it.
Enjoy your minis everyone - they're finally here!!!! :D :D :D

Where are you guys getting your tracking numbers from for the TNT page?
My mini shipped on the 15th but all the numbers i have won't work on the TNT page.
Ive searched on apecode.com as suggested earlier in this thread and the last thing it says on there is that "truck arrived at final destination on the 20th" but it isnt't here

Well, that means it arrived at the depot in Luxemburg or Ireland. From there, TNT will take over, when that happens, you'll be able to use that reference number that starts with 80, to track your order on the tnt webpage..

On the Order status page click on the tracking number and you will probably have got a third number last night, mine starts with 89....
This is your tnt tracking number enter it on tnt and select coming from outside the UK. You should get it today though as it sounds like its in the same order as mine and others.
Oh and the reson I spent so long on this reply, is mine just arrived! :D :D :D :D

Keep checking - hopefully another tracking number (9 digits) will appear soon that will work on the TNT site. Make sure you click the 'consignment' number box and not the 'reference' number box on the TNT site.
Mine was delivered at 10.30 and signed for by someone called LAVIS. Who the hell is that? I guess it must be someone on my street that has accepted the package for me. I'm going mad thinking that they may be playing with my [wife's] iPod while I'm stuck at work! Well I know they won't have opened it really, but it's still frustrating.
I think I may pop home at lunchtime :) Its only a 26 mile round trip and will save the difficulty of my neighbours coming round and giving it to my wife later when its supposed to be a secret until 2nd August..... ;)

Yup definitely time to change the sig and I can remove the mad face as well as that was only added when they delayed my airport express, and I guess they have partially redeemed themselves by delivering this early.
It's the blue one which is here, it's quite nice on it's own but doesn't really fit in with my desk of Apple products, everything else being white or aluminium. I didn't go for the silver as I wanted something a bit brighter but the silver would definitely look better on my desk, I'm sure you will be more than pleased with Silver. I'll have to wait till a pink one gets here before making my final decision.
I've just spent ages deciding what music to put on my mini, 4Gb actually goes surprisingly far at AAC 128kbps, I've managed to get 1040 songs on with a whopping 15Mb free :D It's seems a fair bit slower than my 3G 20Gb to upload songs but the size is really nice, and hopefully I won't need a case to stop it getting all scratched with is annoying in that it adds more depth to the iPod. Also I wanted a new one of the black bags you get with the regular iPod but no luck unfortunately. Now I just need to wait for it to charge before taking it for an inaugural trip.
Enjoy your minis everyone :)

OK, I know I said earlier that TNT were very quick, but the service is not great!!
They delivered my pinkie to a house that is not even on my street because no-one on my street was at home! And they didn't even leave a card at my house to say what they'd done
It was only because I was tracking online that I knew to check. So I called the TNT local depot and the lady on the phone had to go and ask the driver what he'd done with it. He said it was left with a house ON A DIFFERENT STREET. I was able to collect it from them and they were equally surprised to hear my story.
I certainly won't be using TNT next time I have to ship anything.
Back on the subject of the mini, how long does it take to charge? I want to get it ready for my wife but without opening the bag with the instructions in if possible. I have put 20 albums on as a start for her and its only about 1/3 full. Those are high bitrate MP3s so when I get round to re-ripping to AAC it should fit even more. More than plenty for her, until she finds out about the iTunes Music Store! ;)

jothee: Thanks for the apecode.com link! My silver iPod Mini is showing as having arrived in its truck at its final destination, Luxembourg. However, it doesn't look like TNT have taken charge of it for its journey to me yet, as clicking on the link on the left doesn't show anything :(.
This is my first Apple product and I'm really looking forward to owning it. I already have plans for it: iPod Mini and myself are going on holiday to Iceland for a week in early September...

I've been looking at the info about my order on the Apecode website and the last entry is dated 20th July - three days ago.
Here's the relevant part of the tracking:
Stat Date Status Stat Desc. Prod. Source
20 jul 04 90 75 truck arrived at final destination Apple, Shanghai
19 jul 04 30 10 departed direct KN Luxemburg
15 jul 04 30 60 departed from product source Kuehne & Nagel Shanghai
15 jul 04 05 00 boxes scanned Kuehne & Nagel Shanghai
15 jul 04 00 05 Data received from supplier Apple, Shanghai
Anyone care to decipher this for me? Where is my iPod? Is is still in Shanghai or is it in Luxembourg? Why the delay?

Jul 23, 2004, 03:11 AM
VV, try going back to the order status page of the Applestore and clicking on the tracking codes there. I think there are 2 codes, one for the first part of the journey and another when TNT pick it up. Look for a 9 digit number, and enter this on the tracking page at www.tnt.com, make sure youy select 'consignment' number (not reference number) and hopefully you'll get some more info.
I hope you get it soon.

When I called the Apple Store, I was told to expect it sometime in the first half of next week. My order now states "Shipped From Originating Depot", so it's presumably winging its way across the channel to the UK and on to me. Annoyingly it's the weekend now, so that's another two days to wait...
IMHO, Apple needs to improve the tracking a little so that it's easier to find out what's going on. Still, I'm sure it'll all be worth it in the end!
However, I have now managed to talk my partner into letting me keep both  :D
Of course, you could always give your partner one of the iPods... :)

Yes thats how i managed to get away with it. He will have the mini because he has far less music than me. I have just over 4GB on iTunes so far, when I ordered the mini I just though I would have to be selective with what went on it. Now with my iPod on the way aswell I can just put it all on with room to spare (not that I will probably listen to it all) :D

Got my iPod today! Yippee!
It really is fantastic, even though I've not had that much of a play with it. It's lovely and small and a pleasure to use (I had a bit of trouble working out the wheel, but it's fine now).
iPod is being charged at the moment, sitting in its dock. Can't wait to use it properly and upload some music to it.
