Not that I know of. There was a big thing about this when the unibody MacBook dropped FW (temporarily). If you find one, let us know.

I have searched all my usual places for rare things and have never come across one

It is called another Mac or a network storage hub. 😉

Easily converts a FW drive into a wireless or ethernet connection for the price of a used Mac or new Mini.
