I reckon it will get the equivalent 32nm Gulftown processors branded the Xeon 36xx and 56xx series.

No reason to use the $999 Core i7 Extreme 980 XE.

Seriously. Doesn't the ship date usually change to ship in 3 to 5 days a few days before release or is that just a few finite times?

Seriously too – is there a time of day (U.S. Eastern or Pacific) when these things are announced? Pre-dawn starting with a temporary shutdown of the Apple online store? A 10am (Pacific) press release? Or totally random, just to keep us guessing?

It's usually around 9-10am eastern that the press releases come out. At least I think it was for the last 3 releases.

I'll pass on this one. No worth upgrading for a 20-30% speed bump. Hate to see what they will charge for this. :confused:
