Was wondering what is on peoples Christmas wish lists, and what kind of setups people are hoping to have come the new year.

I'm looking forward to running a 10.4 on a dual (+core) G4 15.2" powerbook.

Sorry if this is a *bit* early, only 10 weeks to go!
Andy.

Dual? or dual core? :D

I'm happy as larry with the new 20" iMac, looking forward to getting Tiger on it sometime next year. There really isn't anything I want for christmas.

...oh, er, accept an Aston Martin DB9 :D

Actually, probably this brand, and it has reviews from PB users so that'll probably be my best bet...2 for the price of one from Crucial...

i want an LCD to match my Powerbook for my dormroom. imagine photoshopping on my external monitor, adium-ing and browsing macrumors on my PB, and watching movies from my external harddrive on a TV across the room. uh-oh, im running out of computing power. add a dual-2.5 to my wishlist too... :D

I wouldn't mind finding a Nintendo DS in my stocking....
a Canon XL-2 under the tree......
a winning lottery ticket.......
or a phone call from SBC or the cable company saying they can finally provide my house with high-speed internet (that would be the best of all gifts).....SBC being the company that promised me they could before we moved in but backed out 2 weeks later :( I'm still bitter!

My Powerbook is in dire need of more ram...512 would do. It could also use a BTMouseJR and a Crumpler School Hymn. GTA SA would be a great way to lower productivity. I'm pretty cheap to shop for this year :D

Would be nice with an new iPod, mine is worn-out.
A 1GB stick for my Powerbook could also be nice.

Hopeully we'll have a new 12-incher with a better GPU, come on apple !!
If apple releases a dual core 12" PB with a better GPU, then i'll sell mine and get the new model.

With any luck I won't have to ask for a 20" iMac for Christmas as I'll be buying on around Thanksgiving (though here's to hoping that it arrives before Christmas!)

Also, I'd love a new Pentax Optio s5i (http://www.pentaximaging.com/products/product_details?reqID=1010&subsection=optio).

My Dear Santa is for a Power Mac G5. Then early next year to Tiger.

the student education versions of Adobe CS and Macromedia Suites (finally, my rebates will be comming)
an external monitor
a Pismo (just for the heck of it  )
a set of speakers
for my parents, I would like to get them a imac w/firewire and airport.

Before I left for school this fall, I made sure my parents had access to a Mac. Now the iBook is like part of the family! An iMac would look great on the mantle though...

I don't know what I want.. jeez...

What do I spend my time on:

Work.... hmm, nothing there (unless someone decides they want to give me three or four Trimble R7's (http://www.trimble.com/trimbler7.shtml))

Video... hmm, blank dvdrs make a good gift, FinalCutExpress

Music... damn, I saw Death Cab for Cutie last night (great show!) but I have all their cds, I can't think of many other cds I long for.

Web Design... ugh, just bought a CSS book...

Mac, iPod... iGuess... might be hard to find this christmas!

I dread the holidays... asking for gifts, having to give and always getting crappy presents from people who don't know you very well (my parents), what a bitch of a time. I have to go home and see them... christ, mail me cash and I'll stick it in a mutual fund, pay off my car, blow it on rice crispy treats.... the holiday mood just hasn't struck me yet. Bring on the snow.

Sadly, I had to waive all rights to birthday, anniversary, and XMas gifts this year in exchange for getting my 15" PowerBook this summer.

Of course, my wife is such a pushover that I'm sure I'll find a way to get:

GTA: SA for PS2
MGS: Snake Eater for PS2
Nintendo DS w/obligitory Mario game
new speakers for my Tundra

What do I want for Christmas? 12" PB loaded + 2.5 G5 loaded

But I'll probably just be getting $200-300. No one knows what to get me for Christmas, so they just give me money. I'll probably use that money to build another PC as a music server, or FTP/SSH/HTTP/etc. server.

(1) Money for building a computer, for CS: Source.

for xmas i want: (realistic list)
snow! i missed the last snow by 5 years by being born in '90 and it wasnt even on xmas or
any mac that runs any version of osx without xpostfacto or
a trip to france/spain over spring break (with my school, it costs 2k dollars, may or may not get to go) or
a blackberry phone or
AN APPLE STORE IN SAN ANTONIO!
(fantasy list):
1 (one) genie who will grant me 3 (three) wishes. you know the rest.
edit: tonight i had the opportunity to play on my friend's selmer series II bari sax! that thing's amazing; i use my school's ybs52 and thought it was fine and now it's not gonna feel right going back! now i want one! 6k bucks (for silver-plated or matte lacquer) though and for that price i could get a 2.5g5 plus a 30"acd...

There is only one thing my friends and I have been waiting for for over a year now..........Halo 2!!!

And the best part is that one of my friends works at BlockBuster and they get the games a week before the are out, so he can get it the Thursday before 11/9. Granted it's only about 4 or 5 days before everyone else, but it will be worth it.

i really wish apple would update the iBooks so i can get one of them. i know that just about every other computer they sell needs it first, but i just can't buy a computer that was updated in janurary (i think).
all they need is price drops, Mhz boosts an VRAM boosts

let's see, I have:

- tiBook 1Ghz, 512MB, 60GB, Superdrive
- 3rd gen. iPod 20GB
- Airport Extreme Base
- Airport Express
- M-Audio Firewire Audiophile
- Gemini UMX-9 Mixer

I don't plan any major purchases in addition to my current setup, but I'd like to update my tiBook to 1Gig Ram and an Hitachi 7200RPM HD

I'd also like to have a Canon ZR DVcamcorder, but I'm not sure how often I would actually use it, so I will probably go for the ram and the HD plus professional installation (I'm too lazy to do it myself...)

For dell to stop running their commercials that always end with:
"hurry cause this offer ends on ............"
but then the same commercial is recycled with that end date changed to a date that reflects when they are recycling the commercial.

If you haven't picked up The Postal Service album you should ask santa for it. It is extremely good and they are awsome live (I saw them at the Gorge in WA State). The lead singer (Ben I think?) from Death Cab For Cutie is a member.

All i want for christmas is for apple to announce the dual core g4 powerbooks, so i could buy myself one with my own hard earned moeny working as chef d'équipe at mcdonalds, to replace my lemon (rev, a 1.25ghz 15 inch powerbook)

as for from my parents, well not really anything, i work so i pretty much buy myself whatever i want when i want it, which pisses them off, because they never know what to get me. and when they do think of something they find out that i already bought myself that item like two weeks before

EDIT: well now that i think of it, i could use stargate sg-1 dvd set of seasons 4-8 (is 8 on dvd yet) to add to my collection of season 1,2,3
EDIT2: oh right obviously season 8 is not on dvd yet, that season has just begun like two months ago

Well, seeing as Jews don't have Christmas and instead get 8 nights of fun stuff... (Hanukah, but it is spelled all kinds of ways)

Night 1: Power Mac G5, the works
Night 2: A PowerBook 15", the works
Night 3: A combination of Virginia Tech and the US Army supercomputers... massive folding points!
Night 4: A Power Mac G4, Dual Processor 1.42 to be made into a server
Night 5: A lot of random computer parts, to be used to build stuff (Linux boxes, Windows boxes, various boxes)
Night 6: A keyboard and mouse for the PowerBook, Power Mac. Bluetooth of course...and if the mouse was a gyro mouse, that would be really freakin awesome!
Night 7: The Tungsten T|3, with a 1GB SD card and Documents to Go 7
Night 8: A crud load of cables, cards, and the like to wire it all together.
