600 Dual 2GHz G5's!!

The Apple G5s were chosen because it's an extraordinary floating point processing machine, and with 1,200 such processors there's a really immense amount of processing capability here.

I really don't get it. Why did George not take care of his film in the first place?

Well, first, we made some progress in the last 25 years. Then, look at some really old videos (or something like that) you have. Don’t you think they could need some help, to be as good as some years ago?

I heard a few years ago, Darth Vader looked purple on the screen before they cleaned up the movie and came out with the special edition. That was back in 1999. It would seem they had to clean up the dirt from the films that only existed in that short time. It makes me wonder why the master copy wouldn't be taken care of better. The films are dirtier than the emperor.

George has deep pockets to fund the storage necessary to keep his movies brand new. He probably just wanted to own a couple hundred G5's.

This machine cluster would even make it on the top 500 super computers list.
