Is there a difference between the ATI Radeon 9000 Pro and ATI Radeon 9600 XT (both 128MB). I'm designer and do some video editting. Is one designed more for graphics as opposed to gaming?
I'm getting a new mac and Apple will install the XT cheaper, but is it the proper card?
I know this sounds stupid but i can't get a straight answer anywhere. thanx.

try

check the Mac Radeon 9000 and the PC 9600 XT

While the Apple OEM version usually isn't clock at the same as the PC, you'll get an idea what changed in the chip technology.

will give you an idea about the graphic app benchmarks to see if it's worthwhile to spend more than $50 on a video card update.
