Wha Wha What? The $4.99 Wired Magazine is now FREE?

AND they dropped the price per issue to $3.99. So we're making progress.

The price per issue needs to come down more for those of us who are subscribers. I'm still unwilling to pay $3.99 for a digital issue when I get the physical magazine for 83 cents.
 
This month's electronic version mentions they are working on subscription options.

I found downloading this month's magazine via the in-app purchase to be a gigantic hassle. I had a lot of time-outs and slowage. Plus it's 330meg and it took forever!

Wait til you realize you've got to re-download last months issue at 505Mb! 😀
[due to new app interface I assume]

+1 for the sucky download, I hate being stuck on a fixed page waiting to download, couldn't even read other in-app purchased issues....

505mb! farout! and your in australia! how can you afford to add that into your cap?? 😉 i cant justify it - got a lot better things to download 😀

This can be why they changed the method. At least for regular developers, there's a limit of 200 mb in the app size. Wait... 330 MB?????
 
I had issues downloading it also. Took me 3 tries to get it done. It still needs some work or improvements. File size is going to be a concern along with being able to remove one or two issues to make room for others but yet still be able to retrieve anything you have already purchased.

I'm sure they will find a way to make it work
