Weird Place for an Apple Logo [Archive]

Me and the GF were walking through downtown Cedar Rapids yesterday. Saw this at this old warehouse building and it just struck me as very odd.

Maybe if other people have pictures of weird places they've found Apple logos, they could post them here. I've been following the forums for awhile and havn't ever seen any discussion like that.

on an unrelated note -- anyone know where i can find a cheap used dreamcast? my power supply is failing and will randomly reset during gameplay. its quite annoying.

A couple days ago I was at a Daily Grind. They had apple logos on a menu to make references. On the bottom there was a note as to what they meant.

Not true. I received them with my 12" PowerBook purchased in May of this year, and my 17" iMac just purchased a week ago. In both cases it was in the warranty book - just flip through it and the stickers will come flying out.

at one point i found a website with a couple of doods and a chic that had Apple tats. I guess the chic got a job @ Apple, but she claims it wasnt B/C of the tat.

Nope, still came with my Power Mac G5 from about a month ago. I don't see any reason to believe that they're stopped passing out stickers with machines. I've heard that they're even in the iPod Photo boxes now.

i did something horrible. i put a celeron and a "designed for windows xp" sticker on my exo3 and then put it on my ipod...i've seen this guy that has an apple logo on his guitar case but i guess that's not too weird

You most certainly will get the two white Apple stickers with the purchase of any new Mac. I just got my iMac G5 a couple of weeks ago, and I received them with it. I haven't used them yet though...unsure of where to put them

Kind of looks like a brothel although the door to a brothel wouldn't read "entrance" it would probably read something like "no deliveries" and require some type of secret knock...

last week i bought a new 23" aluminum display and it didn't have the stickers included in the packaging. perhaps this is something they only include with cpu's, eh? i did get stickers with a snow ibook, refurb'd 867 tibook, blue g3, and most recently a 2x2g g5. i've never used the stickers, though. i even have some of the old rainbow ones around somewhere, from when apple gave customers a sheet of them in different sizes! i wonder whether they'll switch back to the multicolored logo, now that the 80's are back and all...

I have a Pentium Intel 4 H/T sticker and an Audigy "Sounds best on 24-bit" sticker on the back of my Palm Tungsten T3. Some people actually believe there's a desktop processor and soundcard in there.

back on topic,

I saw a rainbow Apple logo sticker in an Istanbul taxi. It was stuck in the top left corner of the guages, right behind the steering wheel. I asked the driver if he uses Apple computers. This was difficult because I can't speak Turkish and he didn't understand my English. My impression was that his answer was "no" and also that he had no idea how that sticker got there and why it was there. It probably wasn't his cab.

Maybe toughboy put it there? Someone oughta ask him.

I didn't have a digital camera on me and my JVC HD10 was back at the hotel. I was in Turkey to shoot a documentary.

Well I'm quite sure I didnt put it there. :D But I have a white logo on my door in our apartment, and I'll put one at our car.. I like seeing apple logo around, I really dont care where it is.. I have apple tshirts too, its fun being a free advertisement board for apple :D

When my dad bought his Quicksilver, 17" Cinema Display, and Soundsticks, the entire family got free T-shirts that have the Apple logo on them and the store's location under it. But with my PowerBook I only got two measly stickers... what to do with em....

Thats not the site, nor the girl that I had originally seen. The one I saw had a tat on her ankle and it was the multicolored Apple logo. She said it took her many years to find someone that would do the colors without a border in black (to prevent the colors from running, it takes talent to be able to do it without a border).

Anyway, I have no idea how I stumbled upon the site, I think it was in a forum post on here perhaps. It was probably just under a year ago (?)

my friend stuck one of the apple stickers, that came with my other friend's ibook, on his Asus laptop (where it would have been if it was a mac). i find it pretty funny. he is one of the biggest anti mac people i know, then one day i he comes to school with the apple sticker on his laptop. (he has also bought a used quicksilver since then)

That is awesome. I used to be Anti-Mac, Anti-Linux, and Anti-Unix, yet I wanted a different OS. Then I got into Graphics Design, had to use Macs, now I'm Pro Mac, Pro Unix, Anti-Linux, Anti-Window. I only use pc's for gaming. Tell you friend to stick with Mac and keep the QuickSilver for 30 years, where he can sell it for $5000+ for old Tech.

I put my white sticker in the back side window of my all white Tpyota Prius. Someone asked me if Apple had something to do with designing the Prius. I guess they figured, "intelligent innovation comes from Apple."

I'm not the 'me too' kind of poster but I'm sorry: me too, with an iBook 12", but not with the iPod, as someone mentioned earlier in this thread.
