Hi Guys,
Today I updated iTunes via the software update.
Now whenever I try to launch iTnes I get an error message. I have included the error message if someone can decipher this:

It seems that the iTunes package being distributed by Software Update may be missing a library.

Download iTunes from the Apple website instead and install that. It should fix your problem.

[EDIT] The missing library libgnsdk_musicid.1.8.2.dylib is not included in the latest iTunes package, but should already exist on your system in the directory /Applications/iTunes.app/Contents/MacOS.

Yeah, it seems like the installer was botched. I second your suggestion.

Edit: Apparently this is a known bug: http://www.appleinsider.com/article...e_causing_crashes_instead_of_fixing_them.html

Just updated and iTunes now does not want to launch. Is the recommendation to install it from the apple site a solution?

same issue as OP. took the advice and downloaded direct from apple itunes download page. all is well. thanks everyone

I downloaded directly from Apple the itunes 10.7 and still not working

I was trying to connect and ipod touch to my mac, it told me I needed the newer version of itunes and for that I needed to update to the latest version of OS X. I have the Lion 10.7 now and the itunes 10.7. After installing it tells me the installation was successful, but when I try to open it gives me the error message bellow. Please help!! :(
