The Online Apple Store went down tonight, which can mean new product updates. Late night downtime, however, typically points to maintenance.

One tweet claims that the downtime is related to the launch of the long-delayed white iPhone. The new iPhone parts are claimed to be MC604X/A (16GB) and MC606X/A (32GB) for the White model. The news is attributed to a forum poster who frequently has access to last minute part number lists which have been accurate in the past.

I think its more likely that they are removing all the references to the Xserve from the store. But I would be happy to be wrong.

I think they should just drop the white iPhone 4 and save that color for the iPhone 5. Honestly, this is freakin' ridicules at this point. I doubt their consumers want it that bad at this point.

I have a $16 white skin kit on mine just for kicks. It looks good. Sixteen large. Cheap tricks!!

Apple has no reason to offer this, but a part of me would like them to have a Trade-In program so that people willing to can just pay a small fee to swop out our Black model for a White model.

I know its not going to happen, but I can dream.
